Moving Day

Today in the children’s floor stuff was moved from the old room into the new room so repairs can be made on the walls. That meant lots of fun for me! I could:

Explore boxes

Play in wide open areas

Climb mountains

Squeeze through narrow places

And find cozy spots

Don’t forget that the children’s floor will be closed now through November 1.

Alert! Nuclear Meltdown in the Children’s Library!

The children’s library is going to be closed for repairs from tomorrow Sept. 30 through Nov. 1. I think it’s because of a radioactive leak. Mr. Blinn is shaking his head no, so I guess it’s something else. I sure hope it is! Radiation can’t be good for my complexion.

Doggone It

I was coming up to the children’s floor today, and as I came down the hallway do you know what I saw? A DOG!!! I repeat…A DOG!!! What is a dog doing in my library??? The nerve of that dog!!! Well, I’m not scared of no dog, so I arched my back, puffed up my tail, and walked right by that dog. He was too scared of me to do anything! I stayed up here and kept my eye on the dog until he left. I guess you could say I’m a watchdog. Because I watched a dog! He he.

Trixie’s Bookshelf: The Dictionary

There’s lots of words in the English language named after cats! For example, CATalog, CATapult, CAThedral, CATsup, CATtle, CATcher, and CATerpillar. “Caterpillar” actually comes from a French word that literally meant “hairy cat.” Hmmm…I don’t see the resemblance. I definitely don’t see the resemblance between cats and cattle. You can find dictionaries under the call number 423. Mr. Blinn is telling me there’s one more word to add to the list: CATastrophe. Ha ha. Very funny.

Trixie’s Bookshelf: Frog and Toad Together

One of the stories in Frog and Toad Together is called “Cookies.” Frog and Toad are trying very hard not to eat a box of cookies. I could help them out with that…by eating all the cookies for them! You can find this book by Arnold Lobel in the easy reader section.

Everybody Out!

I’m a smart cat – I know the first time the voice comes over the intercom that means it’s almost time to close. Then the second time means it’s closing time. Sometimes I go up to the children’s floor to get Mr. Blinn, and sometimes I wait for him at the bottom of the stairs. And once everybody is gone, I have the library to myself!

Mr. Blinn is making me aplogize to Anne Hawkins for sneaking out of the back and trying to interrupt her performance last Thursday night. Mea culpa! I just wanted to learn all about the Underground Railroad.

We the People Bookshelf

Check out my other website at and learn all about our We the People Bookshelf. Well, actually Mr. Blinn does this website. I just let him borrow my account because I’m such a nice kitty.

Gimme That!

When you look at this picture, you might think I’m trying to get one of those fishes. But no, I’m not dumb enough to think those are real. What I’m after is that pushpin up there. Why does Mr. Blinn insist on wasting cool toys like pushpins by sticking them in the bulletin board?

The mural in the children’s floor hallway is complete! But every time I try to go down that yellow brick road, it feels like I run into a wall.
