Cat Years
Here is a chart for converting cat years into human years. According to this I’m a teenager! So next on my reading list will be the classic teen novel Cat-cher in the Rye.

Fat Cats
I have a good exercise program. I chase toy mice around and walk up and down the steps. But if your cat is not as healthy-minded and has gotten a bit fat, you can find help here.

Cat Tales
Tuesdays in August at 10:00, elementary age kids can come talk about cool books they’ve read, listen to a Choose Your Own Adventure book, make an animal craft, and of course play with me!

Trixie’s Bookshelf: Ballet Dancing
Cats are very graceful creatures. Especially me. I jump up to great heights, balance precariously on things, slide effortlessly between objects, etc. Except for that time I fell off the table…but I digress. If you want to be graceful too, try out ballet dancing. Learn all about it in Ballet Dancing by Kathryn Clay (j792.8 Clay).

Splash!
Even though the summer reading program is over, it’s not too late to turn in your reading log and get a prize bag. But the penalty for being late is you have to give one of your prizes to me. No, just kidding. Right now 93 kids have turned in reading logs, for a total of 1800 books read. Wow!
Here’s someone about to make a splash at yesterday’s pool party.

Trixie’s Bookshelf: Mrs. Chicken and the Hungry Crocodile
As a small thing, I’m always trying to avoid being eaten by bigger things. (Like just about everyone who comes to the library!) So I can relate to poor Mrs. Chicken, who has to escape being eaten by Crocodile. You’ll love the funny trick she plays! You can find this folktale at j398.2 Paye.

New Game
Today I invented a new game! I drop my ball into the trash can and then knock it over. I don’t think Mr. Blinn likes this game.

My Theory of Energy
I have lots of energy today! I’ve heard that the formula for energy is e=mc2. What in the world does that mean? My formula for energy is a string and a ball!

Pool Party
For kids who signed a summer reading contract:
Kids, make sure you get busy reading if you haven’t already so you can meet your goal and come to the pool party! You can turn in your finished reading log at the library or the pool. The party is Wednesday July 14 from 6:00-8:00 at Riverside Beach!
